Overview

The exterior renovation project in Hove, carried out to the specifications of a professional surveyor, involved a comprehensive overhaul of a building that had been neglected for almost 13 years. The structure was in dire need of attention. One of the primary tasks was the restoration of all the sash windows, which had deteriorated over time due to lack of maintenance. The project aimed to not only revitalize the building’s appearance but also enhance its structural integrity and energy efficiency.

Through meticulous restoration work, including repairs, repainting, and weatherproofing, the building was brought back to it’s former glory while preserving its historical charm.

Work Undertaken

The first phase of the project involved roof cleaning and slate repairs  which were carried out to extend the lifespan of the roof and prevent any potential leaks or damage. New guttering and drainage systems were installed to improve water flow and protect the property’s foundation from water damage. Finally, a protective coating of Acrypol was applied to the chimney to enhance the chimney’s durability and weather resistance, ensuring its longevity. The front of the building’s bricks were carefully cleaned and repointed to enhance the structural integrity and approve the appearance of the building. Additionally, 12 sash windows and cills were meticulously repaired to ensure they function optimally and maintain their aesthetic appeal. The next step involved a full decoration of every side of the property, including the windows, to give the building a fresh and attractive look.

The culmination of these efforts has not only improved the structural integrity and functionality of the property but has also significantly enhanced its overall appearance and curb appeal. The meticulous attention to detail in each aspect of the project, from the brickwork to the window repairs and decorative finishes, reflects a commitment to quality craftsmanship and preservation. This comprehensive restoration project has not only revitalised the property but has also increased its value and ensured its long-term sustainability for years to come.
