Our Projects
Lyndhurst Road Apartment

Overview

This renovation at Lyndhurst Road was a comprehensive upgrade of a family home in Brighton & Hove, combining internal reconfiguration with full exterior works to both the front and rear to refresh the building as a whole. The brief was to modernise the home, improve comfort and functionality, and deliver a cohesive finish across the main living spaces, bedrooms and external areas.

Internally, the project centred around a complete kitchen renovation, designed to become the heart of the home with improved flow, increased natural light and bespoke joinery tailored to the way the clients actually use the space. Both the front and rear bedrooms were upgraded to create calmer, more comfortable rooms, with added focus on acoustic performance and overall finish quality.

Comfort and performance were key drivers throughout. Floor soundproofing was incorporated to reduce sound transfer between levels, while thermal upgrades and improved glazing contributed to a warmer, quieter home. Alongside the kitchen, the bathroom was fully reimagined — redesigned from the ground up to create a more refined, better-proportioned space that aligns with the look and quality of the rest of the house.

Work Undertaken

The project began with a full strip-out of the existing kitchen, followed by structural upgrades including strengthened floor joists, a new subfloor and the installation of underfloor heating, incorporating floor soundproofing to reduce sound transfer between levels. The flat roof was fully insulated, and the glazing was selectively reworked with new French doors, a triple window and an additional high-level window to improve natural light and ventilation.

A new Howdens kitchen was installed, complete with solid worktops, tiled splashbacks and bespoke joinery including a custom bar and workspace. A layered lighting scheme was introduced throughout the space to support both everyday family use and evening entertaining. The staircase was repaired and upgraded, finished with a new handrail to tie the internal spaces together.

The bathroom was completely redesigned, with the layout reconfigured and plumbing relocated to improve flow and usability, finished with statement herringbone tiling, brushed brass fittings and upgraded lighting. Both the front and rear bedrooms were refurbished, including acoustic upgrades and window improvements. Externally, full front and rear exterior works were carried out to refresh and upgrade the property, alongside high-quality internal joinery, flooring, home office upgrades and final finishing works throughout.
